Dr. Pier Luigi De Anna is active in the IP business since 1986.
From 1986 to 1990 he was an examiner at the European Patent Office, The Hague, where, as a search examiner, he gained thorough knowledge of patent documentation research methods. From 1990 to 2002 he an examiner of patent applications in the field of material science, electro-chemical technologies, inorganic chemistry and thin layers coating processes at the European Patent Office in Munich. He also worked in opposition procedures.
In 2002, he co-founded and was CEO of the firm N&G-GmbH in Munich.
In September 2011, he opened his own patent office, DeAnna-Patent, in Munich as a European Patent attorney, Italian Patent attorney, European design attorney and member of the German Patentanwaltskammer. He holds the European Patent Litigator certificate for representing clients before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
He graduated in 1975 with a masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Genoa and has a scientific and technical background obtained as Doctor in chemical engineering from the University of Ferrera. He was a research scientist at the Italian Research Council’s Institute of Applied Chemistry and Physics on Electrochemistry and Material Science, and was a visiting scientist at the R&D laboratories of the General Electric Corporate R&D Center in Schenectady, NY, USA, at Sulzer R&D Center Winterthur, Switzerland and at the Science Academy of Hungary. He also gained experience in project management of the planning for the SNR2 fast breeder nuclear reactor (Ansaldo/KWU/Novatome) in Germamy.
As a patent attorney, he successfully serves many national and international enterprises in grant and litigation proceedings in the technical fields of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacy, medical technology, food packaging and Computer Implemented inventions.
