Ing. Pier Luigi DeAnna

DeAnna-Patent

  • Graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Genoa's faculty of Engineering (1975) 
  • Researcher at the Italian Research Council's Institute of Applied Chemistry and Physics (1975).  Research projects in the electro-chemical field and analyzing metal corrosion processes; more than twenty articles published in international scientific journals.
  • Visiting Scientist at renowned R&D laboratories in Switzerland (Sulzer)(1975-76), Hungary (Science Academy)(1978) and the USA (General Electric)(1981-1982), where he developed innovative research projects.
  • Project management in planning of SNR2 nuclear breeder reactor (Ansaldo/KWU/Novatome) (1984).
  • 1986-1990, European Patent Office, The Hague, he gained a thorough knowledge of patent documents research methods.
  • 1990-2001 European Patent Office, Munich, examination and opposition for patent applications, particularly those relating to electro-chemical technologies and coating processes for thin layers of metals and oxides. 
  • 2002 he co-founded in Munich N&G-GmbH, and directed it until August 2011.    
  • September 2011, opening of DeAnna-Patent in Munich.

Franciscus Schoufour

  • Born in Rotterdam, Holland in 1942
  • Graduated in 1969 at the Technical University Delft, with a Master degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Worked for the Dutch Public Health Ministry (the Hague, Holland) in the Sanitary Engineering Projects management.
  • Joined the European Patent Office in 1980, firstly in The Hague, where he worked in the field of General Mechanics (1980-1984). 
  • From 1984 to 2007 he worked at the EPO in Munich as Chief-examiner in General Mechanics (heat exchangers) and in Civil Engineering (sanitary, concrete construction, road construction and water management construction). 

Mr. Schoufour has a well founded knowlege of the EPO examining practice, 27 years of experience at the EPO as a Patent Examiner, dealing with patent applications (search and examination), and with opposition cases. He was very often chairman in opposition cases and has an insightful knowledge of dealing with oral proceedings. 

Dr. Reinhold Martin

Born in 1948, a Patent assessor and previously representative before the DPMA (German PTO), OHIM (Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market), the EC Trade Mark and Industrial Design authority.

  • Master’s degree in Physics and Computer Science at the University of Heidelberg (UH) (1974).
  • PhD degree in “X-Ray structure analysis of one-dimensional conductors” at the Inorganic Chemical Institute of the UH (1978).
  • Post Doc researcher at the University of Stanford and research professorship at the University of Munich in the field of X-ray and gamma ray structure analysis.
  • Qualified German Patent Attorney in 1990 - training at a patent law firm, the German Patent Office, the Federal Patent Court and the Superior Court of Munich - worked with Munich-based patent law firms until foundation of his own law firm.
  • He prosecuted, defended and enforced German and European Patents in the fields of tele­communications, electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering, medical appliances, process technology, automotive components, processors and chip technology.
  • Dr. Reinhold Martin has extensive experience in the litigation of German and European patents before the German Regional and Higher regional and Courts of Düsseldorf, Mannheim, Karlsruhe and Hamburg and the Federal Supreme Court at Karlsruhe. He represented various national and international enterprises in cross-border litigation covering the fields of semi memories, LEDs, microprocessors, professional sound appliances, ink jet printers, cameras and food packaging production lines before the Federal Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court, in ordinary court actions and preliminary injunctions.
  • Dr. Reinhold Martin is fluent in English, German and French.

Alice Eichner

Ms. Eichner is the paralegal of the firm and is in charge of the administration and docketing system, as well as general secretary work on IP rights.

Alice has a Business School degree and as well a diploma in Communication Science. She has an IP experience gained in fifteen years of work with few of the most known IP firms in Munich. She is German, speaks fluently English and has basic knowledge in French.
